Prof. Eugen Nikolayevich Timin was a MolTag faculty member in the first funding period of MolTag. He passed away on Sept. 2, 2023. Below a short obituary by Steffen Hering.
We lose a friend, a brilliant scientist, a mentor to countless young scientists who found interest and success in science through him.
During his years at the University of Vienna, Eugen Timin was a passionate teacher. He initiated groundbreaking research projects and supervised many doctoral students.
His creativity and gift for discovering new things surpassed us all and his qualities as a person and his sense of humour have always inspired us.
Eugen Timin's scientific ideas will undoubtedly live on, for us he is irreplaceable.
